Patent director launches blog

By Kim Hart - 11/10/09 04:08 PM ET

David Kappos, director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, launched a blog today with the goal of communicating directly with inventors, lawyers, policy makers and others involved in intellectual property.

"It's important for me to be able to hear directly from the IP community, and that is why we are establishing this open channel for sustained dialogue and the exchange of ideas," Kappos said in a press release. "I hope that the public will find this blog to be a useful vehicle for providing input to me directly and giving us the feedback we need to be able to better serve our constituents and the American people."

In his first post, Kappos touches on particular aspects of the patent reform bill now pending in Congress. You can read last week's post on this and read his speech from an event last week.
