'Scandal' president coming back to DC for correspondents' bash

Tony Goldwyn, who plays a fictional president on “Scandal,” is heading to Washington the weekend of the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, a soiree traditionally attended by the real-life commander in chief.

The actor, known as President Fitzgerald Grant to fans of the ABC drama, will join Council on Foreign Relations President Richard Haass for Foreign Affairs magazine’s event called “The Global Beat: Celebrating International Affairs Journalism.”

The Goldwyn-headlined function will be held May first, just days before the correspondents’ dinner on Saturday.

It’s not the first time Goldwyn has landed in the nation’s capital for the annual celebrity-infused shindig. He also attended last year’s festivities.
