Michigan Rep. Mike Bishop endorsed Republican presidential candidate John Kasich on Sunday.
Bishop called the Ohio governor a "compassionate, pragmatic leader" who will be ready to lead the country from the start.
"I am proud to stand behind him and support his campaign to be our president."
Kasich said he's excited to have Bishop on his team.
“We are happy to have Congressman Bishop on the team. I am thankful for his endorsement as we continue to spread a positive message for commonsense, conservative solutions across Michigan," he said in a statement.
The Republican candidates are competing for a win in Michigan in the Tuesday primary.
