Republican joins air war in Oregon special House race

The ad released by the Cornilles campaign starts with his wife, Allison, talking about her family and concerns that her three sons will be unable to find work.

"As a small business owner who has created jobs, I know what it takes to move this economy and give people a brighter future," Rob Cornilles says in the ad.

It refers viewers to a website touting the candidate's commitment to oppose efforts to privatize entitlements, eliminate loopholes and phase in a balanced-budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

But the ad makes no mention of the fact that Cornilles is a Republican — a strategic move in a district that President Obama won by 25 points in 2008.
