American Crossroads on Monday announced a $40 million ad buy in swing states Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia.
The outside spending group, backed by Karl Rove, supports Mitt Romney and is looking to help him defeat President Obama in November.
The group confirmed that they have bought up TV ad space in the eight critical states, with the most money—about $10 million—spent in Florida, followed by Ohio ($7 million), Virginia ($6.5 million), and North Carolina ($4 million).
The ads will run from Labor Day to Election Day, according to CBS News.
Another Rove-backed outside spending group, Crossroads GPS, announced on Friday it plans to spend $25 million on issue-oriented television ads that are running this week in the battleground states Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia.
