New ad pits African-Americans against immigrants

Obama ad blasts Romney for using unpaid coal miners in spot

A new Obama campaign ad slams GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney for using footage of coal miners who said they were forced to attend a Romney rally — without pay — that was later featured in one the GOP nominee's TV spots.

Opening with a shot of the Romney campaign ad, the Obama commercial says, “Seen the coal miners in these ads? Turns out they were told that attendance at Mitt Romney's rally was 'mandatory.' Their mine was closed, lost the pay they needed—all to be props in Romney's commercial.”

Crossroads hits 'tax-and-spend' Baldwin in Wisconsin Senate race

Republican outside group Crossroads GPS is up with a new Wisconsin Senate ad, ripping Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) as a "tax-and-spend rubber stamp."

"Tammy Baldwin's tax-and-spend agenda is just too extreme for Wisconsin," the ad's narrator says before an unflattering clip of Baldwin saying "You're damn right" plays.

Sierra Club goes after six GOP House incumbents on fossil fuels

Six GOP House members are in the cross-hairs of a new advertising barrage that seeks to portray them as lenient toward fossil fuel industries.

The Sierra Club will start its mail and TV campaign Wednesday by hitting Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Calif.) with a TV advertisement that will air in his district for the next 10 days. The spot says the incumbent’s voting record and $455,000 in campaign contributions show he is too friendly with the oil-and-gas industry.

Trey Pollard, a spokesman with the Sierra Club, said the campaign would run through the Nov. 6 election. He said the endeavor is the beginning of a broader organization mission.
