Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) has no hard deadline to decide whether he will take on the chairmanship of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), a position he was offered but turned down in 2010.
Bennet spoke with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Monday about the job, a Senate Democratic aide confirmed to The Hill, but has not yet made his decision.
"It's a whole long and involved process, and we haven't put a deadline on it," the aide said.

Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) is expected to remain as head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for the 2014 election cycle.
The New York lawmaker, who took over the fundraising operation for House Democrats in 2010, will retain his position alongside House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who said Wednesday that she planned to run again for the Democratic House leadership.
According to a House leadership aide, "Leader Pelosi told a packed caucus meeting, including the incoming members of the 113th Congress today that, if Steve Israel is willing to take on the DCCC again, then she will happily place her hat in for leader."

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is planning to go on the offensive this weekend in advance of a House vote to extend all of the Bush-era tax rates for a year. In a statement Friday, the DCCC said it would hold grassroots events in 15 congressional districts around the country on Saturday as it tries to cast Republicans as favoring the wealthy over the middle class. “With 100 days until Election Day, Democrats are mobilizing voters nationwide to unmask House Republicans’ latest plan to protect millionaires over the middle class,” Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y), the DCCC chairman, said in a statement. “This election is about whose priorities are better for the middle class and we’ll take that message neighbor-to-neighbor and house-to-house.”

Senate Republicans collected more than $5.75 million in March and a total of $15 million over the first three months of 2012.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee has $19.6 million in the bank heading into April and has cleared out its debt, the committee announced Thursday.
Earlier on Thursday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee said it had raised $7.4 million in March, bringing its total cash on hand to almost $24 million and setting a record for its first-quarter haul.

House Democrats are reserving almost $32.5 million in broadcast television airtime for the fall, a show of strength that also offers a detailed look at what Democrats see as their path back to the majority.
It's the earliest the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has ever placed such a buy, which reserves the airtime while prices are less expensive and leaves the committee with the flexibility to decide later how to divide up the time.
"By placing early, the DCCC is saving a significant amount of money and ensuring the ads have good placement," a DCCC official said.
In all, the committee has purchased time in the media markets covering 26 incumbent Republicans, seven incumbent Democrats and three open seats.
In Pennsylvania, the DCCC has reserved more than $3.5 million in Philadelphia, allowing them to potentially target Republican Reps. Patrick Meehan (Pa.), Jim Gerlach (Pa.), Charlie Dent (Pa.), Michael Fitzpatrick (Pa.) and Jon Runyan, whose New Jersey district uses the Philadelphia media market.
