GOP outraises Dems in February

By Aaron Blake - 03/20/10 09:56 PM ET

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) outraised its Democratic counterpart in February, $5.1 million to $4.4 million.

According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports filed Saturday, the NRCC spent $3.2 million for the month and was left with $6.1 million in the bank. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) spent $2.9 million and had $19.8 million cash on hand. The DCCC retains about $667,000 in debt.

The NRCC spent much of 2009 getting out of debt leftover from the 2008 election cycle. Even as it builds toward large gains this year, its bankroll has lagged far behind its Democratic counterpart.
