GOP presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty announced Wednesday the hiring of a seven-member staff that will work for his New Hampshire campaign.

The hires are headlined by campaign manager Sarah Crawford Stewart, who worked as deputy campaign manager for Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) 2008 winning bid in the Granite State, and Peter Towey, who worked on Pat Toomey's (R-Pa.) successful 2010 Senate bid and will work as Pawlenty's political director.

Failed 2010 GOP Senate candidate Ovide Lamontagne's nice, Erin, is working as Pawlenty's office manager. The elder Lamontagne is still very active in state GOP politics.

Pawlenty's New Hampshire staff join veteran GOP aide Rich Killion, who is already working for the former Minnesota governor as a New Hampshire strategist. Killion consulted for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's (R) 2008 presidential campaign.

The ex-governor also has an eight-member volunteer steering committee on the ground.

Wednesday's announcement comes after Pawlenty's campaign confirmed he will participate in the June 13 GOP presidential primary debate in Manchester, N.H.
