Romney sons re-emerge on the campaign trail
Mitt Romney’s sons, who played a very public role in his 2008 campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, have only recently become a more visible part of his current campaign.
Romney’s campaign announced that Josh Romney, the third of five Romney sons, would campaign in Iowa on Wednesday this week, meeting with volunteers at the Romney for President Iowa Headquarters in Des Moines.
Romney also brought his son Craig on the campaign trail with him in South Carolina earlier in the week, asking him to introduce him at a speech.
During Romney’s 2008 campaign, his sons were an active—and official—component of his campaign. They wrote the “Five Brothers” blog for their dad’s official campaign page, promoting Romney’s candidacy through insider banter.
Although Romney recently began ramping up his Iowa campaign, making several townhall appearances himself and releasing his first TV ad in the state on Thursday, his wife and sons have made several past appearances on his behalf. Josh Romney attended the Iowa Republicans’ Ronald Reagan dinner earlier this month, and Ann Romney has attended several fundraisers in the state.
The other Romney sons are Matt and Ben.
