John Bolton endorses Romney

Former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton has endorsed Mitt Romney for president, Romney's campaign announced Thursday morning.

Bolton, a hard-line national security hawk who last year weighed a presidential run himself, is a favorite of neoconservatives in the party. He's also a regular contributor on Fox News.

"Of all the candidates, Mitt Romney possesses the strongest vision for America’s leadership role in the world, and I am proud to endorse him," Bolton said in a statement. "President Obama has sapped America’s credibility abroad, weakened our military and failed to lead on issues vital to U.S. national security. President Obama has left America exposed to ever increasing threats. Mitt Romney will restore our military, repair relations with our closest allies, and ensure that no adversary — including Iran — ever questions American resolve."

Bolton's support is the latest in a string of endorsements Romney has received from disparate parts of the Republican establishment over the last six weeks or so. He has by far the most support from party leaders of any of the GOP candidates.
