While the rest of the Republican hopefuls concentrate on stopping Romney in South Carolina, he has maintained a keen eye on Florida, where polls show he has a substantial lead and where the electorate is friendlier to his candidacy than in the more conservative Palmetto State.

Romney’s campaign and political action committees supporting his candidacy have aired at least five ads on television and radio in Florida, and on Monday, Romney announced the endorsement of another Florida Republican, Rep. John Mica. Romney also has the backing of six other House members from Florida.
