Rick Santorum told supporters Monday that he hadn't had a chance yet to speak with former rival Mitt Romney, seemingly putting on ice suggestions that the former Pennsylvania senator could campaign for the now-presumptive Republican nominee.
"I haven't had a chance yet to talk to Gov. Romney, but we'll be talking to both of them and we're going to go out and do what we believe is in the best interest of our country," Santorum said on a conference call with supporters reported by CBS News.
The one-time front-runner told those on the call it was up to them who to support in next week's Pennsylvania primary.

Former Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman loaned his campaign another $1.5 million of his own money to cover debt stemming from his bid for the White House, according to a report Monday in the Salt Lake Tribune. But the former Utah governor remains more than $1.3 million in the red from services provided by vendors during his early run at the Republican nomination.
Huntsman has now loaned his campaign a total of more than $4 million, further evidence that he failed to gain any real traction in the Republican field — or with Republican voters. According to campaign records, Huntsman brought in just $6,000 in donations toward settling his campaign debt in recent months.
That $4 million doesn't include additional money donated by Huntsman's billionaire father to a super-PAC supporting Huntsman's bid.

The Democratic National Committee released a new Web video Tuesday bashing Mitt Romney on transparency and continuing to pressure him to reveal more details of his tax reform proposals and personal financial history. The Democrats seize on comments overheard by an NBC News reporter Sunday night in which Romney, meeting with high-level donors, outlined proposals for changing the tax code, potentially eliminating government agencies and attracting Hispanic voters. His wife, Ann Romney, also characterized the flap with Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen as a "birthday gift."

Mitt Romney admitted in an interview Monday that, if he had to do it all over again, he would not have put his dog on the roof of his car because of the attention the story's received on the campaign trail.
Asked if he would repeat the incident, he told ABC News: "Certainly not with the attention it's received."
Critics have used the Romney's 1983 road trip, where dog Seamus’ rode in a carrier lashed to the top of the family car, to paint the former Massachusetts governor as insensitive. Adding to the critics fodder was the fact that the dog got sick during the trip and Romney stopped the car to hose it down, but left the dog on the roof, where its carrier had a shield to protect Seamus from the wind. Ann Romney, defended her husband's actions, however. She told ABC the "dog loved it" and downplayed the stories that the dog had experienced diarrhea during the trip. "We traveled all the time and he ate the turkey on the counter. I mean, he had the runs. But he would see that crate and, you know, he would, like, go crazy because he was going with us on vacation. It was to me a kinder thing to bring him along than to leave him in the kennel for two weeks," she said.

Mitt Romney is among the least popular presidential candidates at the beginning of a campaign according to a new poll from ABC News and the Washington Post, trailing incumbent President Barack Obama in personal popularity by 21 percentage points.
Romney's 35 percent favorability rating - relative to a 47 percent unfavorability rating - is the worst for a presumptive presidential nominee since 1984. Romney is perceived especially poorly by women, where only 27 percent see him favorably, his lowest rating to date among female voters.
There are some good signs for Romney - his 44 percent favorability rating among men - is the highest of the campaign. And there is precedent for a candidate coming back from nearly as unfavorable a rating, with Bill Clinton rallying from a score just one percentage point better in 1992.

Mitt Romney enjoys watching his own impersonator on the popular late night sketch show “Saturday Night Live” (SNL).
He told ABC’s Diane Sawyer he sets his DVR to record SNL so he can see actor Jason Sudeikis play his version of Mitt Romney. On the most recent episode, Sudeikis played Romney reminiscing—and singing in a bar—with a group of other actors playing GOP candidates who have dropped out of the presidential race.
Romney also said he would consider appearing on the show.

A Democratic-leaning super-PAC is aiding the Obama campaign's push to force GOP presidential front-runner Mitt Romney to release more of his past tax returns, just as the president is calling on his likely general-election rival to be “transparent” with his finances. The outside spending group, American Bridge 21st Century, released a video Sunday titled, "What's Mitt Hiding?" in conjunction with a website urging voters to sign a petition demanding to see the former Massachusetts governor's past returns. "Why should we believe that Mitt's got nothing to hide? Between his Swiss bank accounts and off-shore investment funds in the Caymans, don't you think there's probably more going on than meets the eye?," says the text posted along with the YouTube video.

Presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is offering access to a "Presidential Inaugural Retreat" for top donors who give $50,000 to a new fundraising committee, according to an email obtained by BuzzFeed.
The committee, run by the Romney campaign and the Republican National Committee, is offering access to Romney during a campaign retreat in June and preferential status for an inaugural retreat if Romney wins the nomination.
The news drew a quick rebuke from Democrats, who mocked Romney's campaign for selling access to an inaugural event before clinching the Republican nomination.
