Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) on Wednesday sharply denied that he has plans to stage a coup at the Republican National Convention in August.
“That is not in my plan, that is against my plan, I don’t like that even being a suggestion,” Paul told CNN.

Mitt Romney won the West Virginia Republican presidential primary on Tuesday, pushing him closer to the 1,144 delegates he needs to clinch the Republican nomination. There were 31 delegates at stake in the West Virginia primary, making it the smallest prize of the three states holding their primaries on Tuesday. Romney won all three.

Mitt Romney won the Republican presidential primary in North Carolina on Tuesday. Romney did not face opposition for the Republican primary in the state, but North Carolina is expected to be a critical swing state in the general election. President Obama won North Carolina in 2008. The Democrats are also holding their national convention there in September. In a head-to-head match-up, the latest polls show Obama leading Romney in the state.

Mitt Romney said Monday that he deserves credit for the recovery of the auto industry, arguing President Obama essentially followed his advice on the auto bailout. That drew a sharp rebuke from the Obama campaign, which called Romney's comments "a new low in dishonesty, even for him."
