Labor Secretary Hilda Solis is in California Friday to raise money for Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet. The Democrat is challenging six-term Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-Calif.).
Solis will headline a Palm Springs-area fundraiser before heading to Moreno Valley, where she and Pougnet will discuss the party’s GOTV plan, according to the Desert Sun.
In response to the visit, the Bono Mack campaign released a minute-long radio ad that says "outspoken liberal" Solis was sent by President Obama to help her fellow Democrat.
"Hilda Solis and Steve Pougnet: two liberals bad for business, bad for jobs, bad for us," the ad says.
The ad will start airing on Monday morning, according to the Bono Mack campaign.
