NRCC attacks 10 Dems with robocalls on economy

By Cameron Joseph - 08/16/11 12:29 PM ET

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) this week is attacking 10 House Democrats on pocketbook issues in robocalls.

The targets: Reps. Tim Bishop (N.Y.), Leonard Boswell (Iowa), Lois Capps (Calif.), Russ Carnahan (Mo.), Kathy Castor (Fla.), Mark Critz (Pa.), Mike Michaud (Maine), Collin Peterson (Minn.), Nick Rahall (W.Va.) and John Yarmuth (Ky.).

In the version of the call targeting Bishop, the recorded voice states: “While some are changing the conversation in Washington to one of spending cuts and economic growth, Tim Bishop is part of a group making a bad economy worse. You feel the disastrous effects of Tim Bishop’s policies every day as gas prices go up, your grocery bill gets higher, you see more foreclosure signs pop up in your neighborhood and more Americans feel uneasy about their jobs.

Boswell, Capps, Carnahan, Critz, Michaud and possibly Castor and Yarmuth have been or likely will be weakened by redistricting. Peterson and Rahall represent Republican-leaning districts that they have held for decades.
