House Dems edge GOP in July fundraising but also hold more debt

By Cameron Joseph - 08/22/11 06:30 AM ET

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee narrowly edged the National Republican Congressional Committee in its July fundraising, bringing in $4 million to the NRCC's $3.9 million in the month.

The DCCC has narrowly out-raised the NRCCC so far this year, $37.7 million to $37.4 million.

But the organization came out of the last election cycle with more debt that it has had to pay down. The DCCC has $8.1 million in the bank with $4 million in debt, while the NRCC has $11.3 million cash on hand and $2.8 million in debt.
