Former Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Kans.) is looking at another run for his old seat.

The Wichita Eagle is reporting Tiahrt will meet with supporters and the press Thursday afternoon, and is expected to announce plans to primary Rep. Tiahrt served Kansas’ 4th District from 1995-2011, giving up his seat to make an unsuccessful Senate bid in 2010. Tiahrt lost in the GOP Senate primary that year to Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), and Pompeo won Tiahrt’s seat.

Pompeo starts off with a considerable cash advantage — he posted $2.1 million cash on hand at the end of the last quarter, while Tiahrt had less than $100 in the bank. But Kansas’ early-August primary date gives him time, if he does enter the race, to mitigate that fundraising disadvantage.
