EMILY's List, a Democratic political action committee (PAC) that supports female candidates who favor abortion rights, has added two House contenders to its list of endorsements for the 2012 cycle.

The PAC will back Michelle Lujan Grisham in New Mexico and Stacey Lawson in California. Both are running for open seats.

The endorsement of Lawson was notable because she hadn't previously been designated "On the List," a preliminary phase that most of the PAC's candidates go through before receiving a full endorsement.

Both candidates will have access to the PAC's fundraising network and campaign resources. The group announced recently it had topped 1 million members, doubling its membership since House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) took control of the lower chamber.
