Democrat Jessica Ehrlich to challenge Rep. Young

"Now Ehrlich is set to discover that reality as she campaigns on the same failed ideas that have ravaged the economy," NRCC spokesman Nat Sillin said in a statement.

Florida's new congressional map is currently tied up in the courts, but under the current draft, Young will be running for reelection in a district that Obama would have won by about 52 percent. Alex Sink, the Democratic nominee for governor in 2010, won the district by 2 percentage points, Democrats said.

"Rep. Young has lost touch with our values and our priorities and has become a symbol of what’s wrong with Washington," Ehrlich said, claiming he had been focused on ending Medicare and kowtowing to special interests.
