Chamber of Commerce backs Hasner in Florida

By Josh Lederman - 05/24/12 12:00 PM ET

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is backing former state Rep. Adam Hasner (R) in his bid for the House in Florida.

"We believe that Adam's election to the U.S. House of Representatives will help produce sustained economic growth, help create more jobs, and get our country back on track," said Thomas Donohue, the Chamber's president and CEO.

The pro-business group's endorsement could mean big money for Hasner. The Chamber has been spending heavily on ads boosting candidates it supports and attacking incumbent Democrats in congressional races across the country.

Hasner is running in a redrawn Florida district currently held by Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.), who is running for reelection in a different district. Hasner will face the winner of the Democratic primary, where Lois Frankel has the early lead.
