NRCC adds 10 to 'Young Guns' list
The National Republican Congressional Committee has named 10 GOP congressional candidates to its “Young Guns” program, the second batch of top-tier candidates the committee has announced this cycle.
Each of the 10 candidates had to reach three prior levels in the program, meeting fundraising and organizing benchmarks, before being named to the top tier. The first batch of 12 candidates was announced in May.
California Republicans Kim Vann, Abel Maldonado, Gary DeLong and John Tavaglione have been named Young Guns, as have Joe Coors in Colorado and Rodney Davis in Illinois.
“The momentum behind these campaigns is proof-positive that Americans are fed up with President Obama’s policies that spend too much, tax too much and borrow too much at the expense of hard-working families,” NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (Texas) said in a statement.
