The GOP lawmaker said she had a tough race after redistricting in Illinois and that her campaign worked hard to make it competitive. 

“With the help of so many great people, we turned what was supposed to be a Democrat slam-dunk into one of the most competitive races in the country. We made them work for it, and I will never regret that,” Biggert said.

First elected in 2006, Foster served two terms in the House before losing in the 2010 midterm elections.
