Despite GOP efforts, Rep. Slaughter wins reelection

One of Republicans’ favorite targets in New York, Rep. Louise Slaughter (D) won reelection Tuesday night.
Slaughter, who serves on the House Rules Committee, beat her Republican opponent, Maggie Brooks, by more than 10 percentage points, 57 percent to 43 percent, CNN reported.
Super-PACs made Slaughter a high-priority target in the homestretch by spending hundreds of thousands of dollars against her.
She represents Rochester, N.Y.
