Critz loses Pennsylvania House seat

By Cameron Joseph - 11/07/12 12:43 AM ET

Rep. Mark Critz (D-Pa.) has lost his reelection bid.

He was defeated by Keith Rothfus, a Tea Party favorite who'd lost his first bid to former Rep. Jason Altmire (D-Pa.) two years ago. Rothfus led by 51 to 49 percent with 97 percent of precincts reporting, and The Associated Press has called the race.

The hard-campaigning, centrist Critz was targeted in redistricting, and narrowly defeated Altmire in a spring primary. But the blue-collar, southwestern Pennsylvania district leans and is trending Republican, and conservatives spent $5.4 million to defeat him, more than in any other House race.
