Democrats flip freshman Rep. Buerkle’s seat

In a rematch from 2010, Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (R-N.Y.) lost to former Rep. Dan Maffei (D-N.Y.).
With close to 80 percent of the precincts reporting, CNN called the tight race for Maffei.
In 2010, Maffei lost to Buerkle by fewer than 1,000 votes.
The freshman Buerkle surprised people in 2010 with her win in the Syracuse-area district.
