Rep. Heck keeps competitive House seat in Nevada
Former military doctor Joe Heck (R-Nev.) managed to hold on to his House seat Tuesday night.
With nearly three-quarters of precincts reporting results, CNN called the race for Heck over state Assembly Speaker John Oceguera (D).
Nevada’s 3rd district actually became slightly safer for Heck after redistricting split part of his old district to create a new one for the state, which saw a large population increase. But liberal Las Vegas suburbs still made his reelection effort difficult for Heck.
Before redistricting, Heck represented one of the most populated districts in the United States.
