Rep. Bachmann wins reelection in Minnesota

By Emily Goodin - 11/07/12 05:59 AM ET

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) won a tough reelection race, beating her opponent by less than 3,000 votes.

With 98 percent of precincts reporting, Bachmann led Democratic challenger Jim Graves 50.6 percent to 49.4 percent. The Associated Press has called the race.

It was the toughest reelection battle yet for the Tea Party favorite.

Graves, who was helped by a late campaign stop from former President Clinton, hammered Bachmann on her presidential run, during which she emphasized her roots in Iowa.

But Bachmann, who is well-known nationally, raised millions for her reelection bid and will return for a fourth term.
