Paul Ryan will chair annual NRCC fundraising dinner

By Cameron Joseph - 12/10/12 10:47 AM ET

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will chair the National Republican Congressional Committee's annual fundraising dinner in March, the committee announced Monday morning.

Ryan gives the group a big name to draw in donors.

"This powerhouse team, led by Paul Ryan, will provide the leadership needed to make this annual fundraising dinner a huge success," said incoming NRCC Chairman Greg Walden (R-Ore.).

Joining Ryan as co-chairmen for the event are Reps. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) and Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) and Rep.-elect Roger Williams (R-Texas).

The NRCC has yet to name the event's headliner. In recent years they've featured rising star GOP governors including New Jersey's Chris Christie, South Carolina's Nikki Haley and Louisiana's Bobby Jindal.

Their 2012 dinner, which featured Haley, brought in $12 million for the committee.
