DNC member 'weighing' run against Nev. Rep. Heck

By Cameron Joseph - 01/28/13 10:15 AM ET

Democratic National Committee member Erin Bilbray-Kohn is leaning towards running against Rep. Joe Heck (R-Nev.).

"I am weighing toward doing it," she told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "I just haven't completely made a decision."

Bilbray-Kohn was in Washington, D.C., last week for President Obama's inauguration and met with top Democrats, including Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel (D-N.Y.). She said she's likely to make a decision in the next month.

Heck won against a flawed Democratic candidate in 2012, though Obama narrowly carried the district. Bilbray-Kohn, a Democratic consultant in the state whose father is a former congressman, would give Democrats an early high-profile recruit for the toss-up seat.
