Ex-Rep. Ose mulling comeback bid against Rep. Bera

Former Rep. Doug Ose (R-Calif.) is thinking about a comeback bid against Rep. Ami Bera (D-Calif.).

Ose, who honored a term-limit pledge and left Congress in 2004 and then lost a GOP primary for another seat in 2008, tells the Sacramento Bee that he and his wife are "deliberating on it but have not made a final decision.

"It's very easy to say, 'I'm going to run for Congress,' but having done it four times now, it's not a simple task," he said. "There's a lot that goes into it."

Bera pulled off a narrow victory over former Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Calif.) last fall in a slightly Democratic-leaning district, and Republicans hope to give him another tough fight in 2014.

Former Senate candidate Elizabeth Emken (R) is also considering a run for the seat.
