Former Rep. Bob Barr (R-Ga.), the Libertarian Party's 2008 presidential nominee, will announce his plans to make an attempt at returning to Congress Thursday morning.
Barr has a morning press conference scheduled to announce his plans. He's previously said he'd run for Rep. Phil Gingrey's (R-Ga.) seat if Gingrey decided to run for the Senate. Gingrey announced he would earlier this week.
The former congressman will run as a Republican. He'd considered a bid to return to Congress in 2011 as well, but eventually decided against challenging Rep. Tom Graves (R-Ga.) in a primary.
