Rep. Mike McIntyre's (D-N.C.) 2012 opponent is spoiling for a rematch.
Former North Carolina state Sen. David Rouzer (R), who came within 654 votes of McIntyre in 2012 in the closest House race in the country, told the Raleigh News & Observer that he plans to run again. Rouzer said he'll officially announce his campaign later this week.
McIntyre survived tough races in both 2010 and 2012, and will likely be a top GOP target this cycle. Mitt Romney won his district by a 19-point margin, making it one of the most Republican districts still in Democratic hands, and without President Obama at the top of the ticket, it could be harder for McIntyre to turn out Democratic votes this election.
