Maine Gov. LePage will seek reelection, foregoing congressional race

LePage has come under fire in recent weeks after saying that a Democratic state senator “claims to be for the people, but he’s the first one to give it to the people without providing Vaseline.” He also saw the legislature override his veto of the state budget.

With LePage now officially out of the congressional race, the Republican nomination fight currently stands as a battle between Maine businessman Blaine Richardson and Alex Willette, a 24-year-old state lawmaker.
