Former Ruth's Chris CEO Craig Miller has officially thrown his hat into the GOP primary to face Rep. Suzanne Kosmas (D-Fla.).
The field in that district has been a disappointment on the fundraising front, and Miller's business connections and wealth are seen as a big bonus for the GOP.
Winter Park City Commissioner Karen Diebel and state Rep. Sandy Adams have fallen out of favor with the national party, which sees Miller is a better general election option.
“I know that strong growing businesses create real sustainable job growth and big government destroys them," Miller said in a statement. "Unlike my opponent, Suzanne Kosmas, and the current Democratic leadership in Congress, I and most Americans know that we can’t tax and spend our way to prosperity."
