To GOP, Griffith wasn't always the good doctor

By Aaron Blake - 03/05/10 05:49 PM ET

Welcome to "When Attack Ads Come Back To Bite You."

Recent party-switcher Rep. Parker Griffith (R-Ala.) is set to give the weekly Republican radio address Saturday morning, with topic No. 1 being health care.

But Republicans didn't always think the good doctor was such a great spokesman on the issue.

Take this 2008 NRCC campaign ad, in which Griffith is accused of "warehousing cancer patients" and under-dosing them so he could make more money.

"His approach caused unwarranted pain and suffering," the ad states. "Parker Griffith: Shameful conduct. He can't be trusted."

Apparently, now that he is a Republican, he can be trusted.

(h/t Talking Points Memo for archiving the ad)
