Biden to campaign with Dent challenger

Vice President Joe Biden will be in Pennsylvania in April to campaign for congressional candidate John Callahan.

Callahan, the mayor of Bethlehem, is challenging Rep. Charlie Dent (D-Pa.) in a top-targeted race. Biden will be in town April 15.

No other details on the visit have been released.

"I am honored to have the support of Vice President Biden here in the Lehigh Valley," Callahan said. "The Vice President's visit will continue to help us build the momentum we need to win in November."

Biden on Monday campaigned for freshman Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-Ohio).

Dent responded: "How wonderfully appropriate that Joe Biden would choose to visit John Callahan on April 15, Tax Day. Joe Biden certainly picked the right day to honor his loyal foot soldier, given John Callahan’s awful record of increased spending, higher property taxes, and his advocacy for higher sales taxes and higher federal income taxes."
