Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) has donated to former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's (R) House primary opponent, making him the first House member to help Attorney Curtis Bostic (R) in the race. Harris gave $1,000 to Bostic's campaign through his leadership PAC.
It's somewhat unusual for congressmen to get involved in their parties' primaries, especially to oppose a former member of Congress (Sanford served from 1995-2001). Harris's office did not respond to questions about the donation.

Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) is throwing his weight behind Attorney Curtis Bostic (R) in his primary runoff election against former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford (R), making him the most prominent Republican so far to oppose Sanford in the contest. "I am pleased to announce our endorsement of Curtis Bostic in South Carolina's first congressional district," Santorum said in a statement on Tuesday. "Curtis' groundswell finish to a runoff spot signals a win for the strength of his grassroots supporters and his robust conservative values. We must continue that momentum for Curtis into the runoff election, and I look forward to joining conservatives across South Carolina in helping to elect Curtis Bostic to the U.S. House of Representatives," he added. Santorum is headed to South Carolina to stump in the district with Bostic on Wednesday.

Mark Sanford’s lone remaining opponent for the Republican
nomination in a special House election Thursday won the endorsement of the
race’s sixth-place finisher.
But two days after Sanford lapped the field in the first
round of the GOP primary, there’s not yet any organized effort by other failed
candidates to rally against the former governor.
Former South Carolina state Sen. John Kuhn told The Hill he
planned to endorse attorney Curtis Bostic in the April 2 runoff election against
Sanford for the GOP nomination.
Kuhn, who finished sixth in a field of 16 contenders, said
he’d work hard to help Bostic win.
“I think that Curtis Bostic is a great guy. He's honest,
he's honorable and he's hard-working, a strict constitutionalist. I got to know
him on the campaign trail and like him a lot," Kuhn said. "I'm definitely throwing my
support behind Curtis Bostic.
“I will not back Sanford under any circumstances including
in the general [election]. That doesn't mean I'd vote for the Democrat either, but I would
not back Sanford under any circumstance. I think he's lied too many times to
the public of South Carolina.”
