Reps. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) and Brad Schneider (D-Ill.), two potentially vulnerable freshmen, are off to strong fundraising starts: each raised approximately $400,000 in the last three months. Schneider pulled off a narrow win in a Democratic-leaning suburban Chicago district, and his 2012 opponent, former Rep. Bob Dold (R-Ill.), is looking at a rematch this election. Davis, who won a tough race for an open downstate Illinois swing seat, is a top Democratic target this election cycle. Davis has more than $330,000 cash on hand, a substantial amount for this point in the election cycle in the inexpensive district. Schneider didn't announce how much he has in the bank. He'll need to keep up this fundraising pace — his district is in Chicago's media market, one of the most expensive in the country.
