The manager of President Obama's reelection campaign welcomed endorsements from several big environmental groups on Wednesday.
“We’re honored to have the support of the Sierra Club, the League of Conservation Voters, and Clean Water Action and Environment America, and we look forward to working with them throughout the campaign,” campaign manager Jim Messina said in a statement.
The groups are strongly supporting Obama despite some divisions between environmentalists and the White House.

Four environmental groups — including the two with the green movement’s biggest political operations — endorsed President Obama’s reelection on Wednesday, support that was expected but arrives amid tensions between activists and the White House.
The Sierra Club, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), Environment America and Clean Water Action jointly announced their plans to support Obama’s reelection.
“The Sierra Club and our 1.4 million members and supporters share the same vision for America as the president for a prosperous and innovative economy that protects the air we breathe, the water we drink and the health of our families,” said Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune in a statement.
