Poll: Obama leads in swing-state New Hampshire

By Jonathan Easley - 06/25/12 12:34 PM ET

President Obama has a solid lead over Mitt Romney in the critical swing-state of New Hampshire, according to a poll from American Research Group released on Monday.

Obama leads Romney 51 percent to 43 and is buoyed by a 24-point lead among women. Romney leads the president by 12 points among men in the poll.

Obama has a 6-point lead in New Hampshire, according to the Real Clear Politics average of polls, which doesn’t take the ARG poll into account.

Romney launched his presidential bid and officially kicked off his general election campaign in New Hampshire. He also owns a vacation house and maintains close ties to the Granite State, which is near his home state of Massachusetts, where he served as governor.

New Hampshire is one of 12 battleground states that will be critical in determining the outcome of the 2012 election.

The poll of 535 registered voters conducted between June 21-24 has a 4 percentage point margin of error.
