Rasmussen: Romney leads in swing-state Colorado

By Jonathan Easley - 10/22/12 11:16 AM ET

Mitt Romney has an advantage over President Obama in the critical battleground state of Colorado, according to a survey released Monday by Rasmussen.

Romney takes 50 percent support among likely voters in the poll over Obama at 46.

According to the Real Clear Politics average of polls, the candidates are tied in Colorado, with Romney taking 47.9 percent support over Obama at 47.7.

It’s one of a handful of remaining battleground states that remains a true toss-up and both campaigns are expected to make a push there with a little over two weeks until election day.

Romney will be in Colorado for an event on Tuesday night.

Obama will travel to the Denver area on Wednesday as part of a 48-hour around-the-clock campaign blitz in which he will also visit five other swing states.

The survey of 500 likely voters was conducted on Oct. 21 and has a 4.5-percentage-point margin of error.
