Former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D) has no doubt in his mind that he'd make a better president than former Secretary of State Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonKim Kardashian West defends Kanye on Trump: 'He's a free thinker, is that not allowed?' Trump comments on Fifth Amendment resurface after Cohen filing The 'Handmaid's Tale' liberal feminists created MORE, the latest comments he's made antagonizing the potential Democratic front-runner.

"Well, I think so, of course," he told TIME magazine when asked if he'd do a better job as president than Clinton would. "I think I have a background and a resume that isn't just in government."

Schweitzer also took shots at Clinton for her votes for the Iraq War and Wall Street connections.

"You can’t be the candidate that shakes down more money on Wall Street than anybody since, I don’t know, Woodrow Wilson, and be the populist. You can’t be the one to say we’re going to focus on rebuilding America if you voted to go to the Iraq War. There were 30-some Democrats who voted against that," he said.

Schweitzer has been repeatedly critical of Clinton and is openly toying with a presidential run. But he might be a tough sell to the Democratic base: he's staunchly pro-gun and a longtime supporter of more fossil fuel production. Some Democrats also believe he's more interested in garnering headlines and raising his profile than making a serious run for the White House.
