Sen. Portman met with senior Romney advisers

Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) has met with Mitt Romney's top campaign advisers six times in recent weeks and did not deny that he's met with Beth Myers, who is in charge of Romney's vice presidential vetting process, according to ABC News.

Portman clarified that three of those meetings were fundraisers for Romney that senior staff attended, and tacitly admitted to having met with Myers. Many believe he's on the presumptive GOP presidential nominees's short list for the vice president slot on the ticket.

"Oh, I've seen pretty much all of them, you know, at one time or another," Portman told ABC when asked specifically if he'd met with Myers.

Romney's campaign has been very tight-lipped about the vice presidential vetting process.
