Former President Bill ClintonBill ClintonFormer Labor secretary to Trump: Stop being 'petty, thin-skinned and vindictive' Why Dana Rohrabacher should be Trump's Secretary of State Would it be legal for Trump to give his son-in-law a White House gig? MORE will host a New York City event with major Democratic donors for Priorities USA, the pro-Obama super-PAC, The Hill has confirmed.

The decision is the latest sign of increased activity on behalf of Obama by the popular former president. He'll also give a prime-time speech at the Democratic National Convention in early September.

The event is not technically a fundraiser, as invitees do not have to commit to donating beforehand, but a briefing for potential donors to the group on the race's state of play.

The group has reserved $30 million in ad time, more than the actual amount they've raised so far this campaign. The event with one of the Democratic Party's most popular figures could help them close that gap.
