Romney back on trail amid national convention

Mitt Romney will speak to the American Legion in Indiana on Wednesday, the day before he'll give his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.

His appearance on the campaign trail in the middle of his party's convention is a rare one, as no candidate in recent memory has taken time off from the party convention to head back out on the trail.

But with President Obama likely to pepper the airwaves with his appearances on college campuses in Iowa, Colorado and Virginia this week, Romney's return to the trail will help keep his own profile up.
