Rubio headed to Iowa

By Cameron Joseph - 11/08/12 01:30 PM ET

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is headed to Iowa, an early sign he could be interested in running for president.

Rubio will head there next week to headline a birthday fundraiser for Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad (R), one of the most influential Republicans in the state, his spokesman announced. Rubio will be in Altoona on Saturday, Nov. 17.

Iowa's caucuses have long begun the presidential primary season, and it's never too early for candidates to start courting opinion-makers in the state.
