“Thirty-six years ago, this nation faced a period of doubt. After a failed presidency, it felt like America was in decline,” Rubio says in the ad over images of the Iranian hostage crisis and the energy crisis under former President Jimmy Carter.

“And then we elected a president that inspired us, who asked us to remember who we were and who believed, as we do, that America’s greatest days always lie ahead,” he continues, showing a picture of former President Ronald Reagan taking the oath of office.

Rubio said the generation ushered in under Reagan is ready to take up the former president's cause.

“Well now the children of the Reagan revolution are ready to assume the mantle of leadership,” he concludes.

The ad will air in March 1 primary states, the campaign said in a press release.
