"I don't think Donald Trump is having any problem getting press at this point," Pence, Trump's running mate, said on "Fox News Sunday."

"We'll keep our private conversations private. But that's an ongoing discussion in the campaign."

Trump has in the past revoked the press credentials of several media outlets including The Washington Post, Politico, BuzzFeed and The Huffington Post for what he considered unfair and biased reporting. He has also suggested he could revoke the credentials of The New York Times.

Pence has said in the past that he has a generally positive relationship with the press.

"I do believe in the public's right to know," he said Sunday.

"Whether it's about these latest allegations about [Democratic presidential nominee] Hillary ClintonHillary Rodham ClintonTrump, Clinton vie for police support No record of Clinton, aides taking required ethics courses President Obama heading to China, Laos MORE or otherwise, and we'll continue to advance that principle."
