David Remnick's biography of President Barack Obama will be on bookshelves Tuesday but his publisher is offering a sneak peek at the highly-anticipated tome.

Remnick, the editor of the New Yorker, wrote the 672-page "The Bridge" to examine the ambition behind the president's rise in politics.

Knopf publishing has put the book's prologue on its website.

"The Bridge," which is available for pre-order, was No. 34 on Amazon's best-seller list as of Monday afternoon.

Remnick was profiled in Sunday's New York Times, where he discussed his decision to write a book about Obama when there are already several available.
